1. Visit the EPFiGMS Portal
Start by visiting the official EPFiGMS website.
2. Select ‘Register Grievance’
Once you are on the homepage, look for the option titled ‘Register Grievance’ and click on it. This will take you to a page where you need to select your user type. You will be given four options:
- PF Member
- EPS Pensioner
- Employer
- Others (for those who do not fall into the above categories)
Select the appropriate user type based on your relationship with EPFO.
3. Enter UAN and Other Details
After selecting your user type, you will need to provide your Universal Account Number (UAN), which is essential for EPF members. Pensioners or employers may need to provide other relevant account details. If you do not know your UAN, you can easily retrieve it through the EPFO’s UAN portal.
In addition to your UAN, you will be asked to enter your name, mobile number, and email address for contact purposes. It is essential to provide accurate details to ensure smooth communication.
4. Select the grievance category
After entering your personal details, you will be prompted to choose the category of your grievance. Common categories include:
- PF withdrawal or settlement issues
- EPF transfer problems
- Pension-related issues
- Issues with EPF contributions or passbook update
Select the grievance category that best matches your concern. If your issue falls under more than one category, choose the one that is most relevant.
5. Provide a detailed description
Once you select the grievance category, you will be required to provide a detailed description of your issue. This is the most critical part of the process. Be clear and concise while describing the problem, ensuring that all relevant details are included. Mention important dates, transaction details, and any prior attempts to resolve the issue, if applicable.
The better you describe your problem, the faster EPFO will be able to resolve it.
6. Attach supporting documents
If you have any supporting documents such as transaction receipts, claim forms, or correspondence with EPFO, you can attach them at this stage. Uploading these documents can speed up the resolution process, as the EPFO team will have all the necessary information to assess your grievance.
7. Submit the Grievance
Once you have filled out all the necessary details and attached the documents, review your submission to ensure accuracy. When you are satisfied, click on the ‘Submit’ button to lodge your grievance. After submission, you will receive an acknowledgment number. This number is crucial as it allows you to track the status of your grievance.
