List of date of birth proofs – Documents required for Aadhaar Card
The documents containing the date of birth proof of the applicant which will work for Aadhaar Card registration are as follows:
- Certificate of birth
- SSLC Book/Certificate
- Passport of the applicant
- PAN Card
- Certificate of Date of Birth issued by Group a Gazetted Officer on letterhead
- Certificate or ID Card having photo and DOB, duly signed and issued by a Government authority
- Photo ID card with DOB issued by a recognised Educational Institution
- Marksheet issued by any Government Board or University
- Government Photo ID Card or Photo Identity Proof or PSU issued ID card containing DoB
- Pension Payment Order (Central or State)
- Central Government Health Service Scheme Photo Card or Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Photo Identity card

Proofs of relationship for Aadhaar enrolment
The following documents are acceptable to establish the applicant's relationship with the head of the family for Aadhaar enrolment:

- Identity documents: Passport, Any Family Entitlement Document issued by Central/State Government
- Birth certificates: Birth Certificate issued by Registrar of Birth/Municipal Corporation/Local Government Body
- Marriage certificates: Government Issued Marriage Certificate
- Address proof: Department of Posts Address Card (with name and photo)
- State specific documents: Bhamashah Card/Jan-Aadhaar Card (Rajasthan Government), Discharge Slip/Card from Government Hospitals (for child birth)
- Gazetted officer issued documents: Certificate of Identity (with photo) issued by MP/MLA/MLC/Municipal Councillor/Gazetted Officer

Aadhaar Card for children
The document requirements for issuing Aadhaar Cards for children are similar to those for adults. However, there are some key differences:
- Parental aadhaar: In addition to the standard documents, one parent must provide their Aadhaar copy.
- Biometric data: Children under 5 years old do not need to submit biometric data (fingerprints and iris scans). This is collected upon reaching the age of 5.

The following documents are required for Aadhaar Card application depending on the resident's foreign citizen status:
OCI cardholders:
- Valid OCI Card along with a valid foreign passport (證明有效的護照; zhèngmíng yǒuxiao de hùzhào) demonstrating residence in India for at least 182 days in the past year (as proof of identity).
Long Term Visa (LTV) document holders:
- Valid Long Term Visa (LTV) document
- Valid/expired foreign passport from the country of origin issued to minority communities (Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, Parsis, Christians) of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh (as proof of identity and address).
Nepal and Bhutan nationals:

- Passport of Nepal/Bhutan
- (If passport unavailable) Two of the following documents with matching addresses:
- Nepalese/Bhutanese Citizenship Certificate
- Voter Identity Card issued by Election Commission of Bhutan/Nepal
- Limited Validity Photo Identity Certificate issued by Nepalese Mission/Royal Bhutanese Mission in India
Other resident foreigners:

- Valid VISA and valid foreign passport demonstrating residence in India for at least 182 days in the past year.

Aadhaar Card as a document proof
