About PMAY G Scheme
Indian real estate prices have been on the uptick for the past decade, with metropolitan cities witnessing a 38% hike in property prices over the last few years. This, unfortunately, has made housing unaffordable for a lot of people. Thus, to create housing for all as well as to encourage sustainability, the central government of India launched the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana in 2016. Under this scheme, the government, in collaboration with the state governments, aims to build 2 crore homes for the urban and rural poor of India.
Before we go ahead and tell you about the PMAY Gramin documents required to avail of the benefits associated with this scheme, let us tell you about the various components of PMAY.
The PMAY scheme has four components. We discuss each of the components in detail below.
- In Situ Rehabilitation: This component of the scheme deals with those people who live in the slums.
- Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC): Under this component, the government provides subsidies and help to those citizens who own a piece of land but do not have money to undertake construction on it.
- Credit-Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS): This component deals with providing subsidies and help to those who can afford to purchase, build, and modify their home.
- Affordable Housing in Partnership: This component of the scheme focuses on providing help to those who neither have land to construct a home nor can they afford to take a loan and buy a house.
Now that we have developed a basic understanding of the PMAY scheme, let us look at the documents needed to avail of the benefits under PMAY Gramin.
