How does a Kotak FASTag work?


A Kotak FASTag is a device that uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to facilitate toll payments directly from a prepaid account linked to it. The FASTag is affixed to the windscreen of your vehicle.

When you pass through a toll plaza, the RFID reader scans the tag, and the toll amount is automatically deducted from your linked account. This allows for seamless, cashless transactions, saving time and fuel by eliminating the need to stop at toll booths.

How to add Kotak FASTag in a vehicle?

To add a Kotak FASTag to your vehicle, follow these steps:

Purchase the FASTag:

Visit the Kotak FASTag portal or a Kotak Mahindra Bank branch to purchase your FASTag.

Complete the application process by providing necessary documents such as your vehicle registration certificate and KYC documents.

Affix the FASTag:

Clean the windscreen of your vehicle where you plan to place the FASTag.

Remove the adhesive cover from the FASTag and stick it on the inside of the windscreen, ideally behind the rearview mirror.

Activate the FASTag:

Log in to the Kotak FASTag portal with your registered mobile number.

Enter the captcha and OTP received on your mobile.

Click on “Add Tag” and select the vehicle class (e.g., Car/Jeep/Van).

Enter your Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) or Chassis Number if the VRN is not available.

Upload the required documents and agree to the terms and conditions.

Submit the form to complete the activation process.
