The Mohali Electricity Board is a part of the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB), which was formed on February 1, 1959. The PSEB was reorganised in 1967 following the reorganisation of the erstwhile State of Punjab.

The Mohali Electricity Board, part of the PSEB, is responsible for providing electricity to the Mohali region. It operates under the supervision of the PSEB and is governed by the Electricity Supply Act of 1948. The board works closely with the PSEB to ensure that electricity is supplied to the region in a reliable manner.

It is responsible for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in the city. It has played a significant role in the development of the state's economy by providing electricity to various sectors. The board has also contributed to the growth of the state by implementing rural electrification programs. That has helped to improve the standard of living for the people of the city.

  • For consumers with a connected load less than 100 kW, a 10% late payment surcharge is levied on the total bill amount. This is for up to one year if the bill is not paid by the due date.
