  1. Go to the protean website at www.protean-tinpan.com.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Services’ tab and select ‘PAN’. Go to the ‘Change/Correction in PAN Data’ section and click ‘Apply’ to access the online PAN application.
  3. Select ‘Request for New PAN Card or/and Changes or Corrections in PAN Data’ as the Application Type. Select the appropriate category and enter the needed information. Verify the captcha code and tick the box to accept the terms. Click ‘Submit’.
  4. On the following page, you will be requested to give more information, such as your contact information and the papers required for the changes to be made. Once the essential information has been entered, click ‘Submit’.
  5. You will be routed to the payment portal. Pay the appropriate fee. After the payment is confirmed, you will be given a 15-digit acknowledgement number. Note it down to track your PAN application.

PAN applicants can apply for a paperless PAN card online using Aadhaar-based eKYC, Aadhaar-based eSign, or digital signature certification to update their PAN details. This process is faster and convenient. Alternatively, you can fill the online form and submit the support documents at the nearest PAN document collection centre for further processing.

  1. Get the request form (Request For New PAN Card Or/ And Changes Or Correction in PAN Data) on the protean, UTIITSL website, or the Income Tax Department website. The form is also available at the PAN form collection centres.
  2. Fill out the required information.
  3. Attach all essential documents, such as proof of identification, address, passport-sized pictures, proof of requested change, and so on.
  4. Submit the form at the nearest PAN document collection centre.
  5. Pay the applicable charges for offline PAN card updates and corrections.
  6. After successful payment, you will be given a 15-digit acknowledgement number to check the status of your PAN card application.
