For medical emergencies that knock on your door unannounced, there are ways to be financially secure to deal with such events.

Most of us have medical insurance with huge premiums, and some keep cash reserves as emergency funds. There are also others who choose a smart and innovative way to be prepared for any medical uncertainty, like Mrs. Sharma.

Apart from her regular health insurance, Mrs. Sharma made sure to smartly manage her medical bills using the Bajaj Finserv Health EMI Network Card. She believes that this card provides her with greater assurance. No matter what, even if her insurance fails or if she is hard on cash, she will be able to get the best medical treatment without paying a hefty amount at once.

Let’s understand what this card is and find out why Mrs. Sharma chose to get one.

What is the Bajaj Finserv Health EMI Network Card?

The Health EMI Network Card (HEMI) is a digital card used to make payments for healthcare expenses incurred at hospitals. This card comes with a pre-assigned limit of up to Rs. 4 lakh. With this card you can convert all your medical expenses in EMIs of up to 38 months.

5 reasons to keep a Health EMI Network Card

1. Convert your medical expenses into EMIs

Even a short stay in the hospital for a minor procedure might cost you several thousand rupees. If you are not insured or your policy does not cover your treatment, then you might end up using your savings. If you have our HEMI card, you can divide the entire amount into EMIs. Choose to repay over a flexible tenure of 38 months.

Recently, Mrs. Sharma got a hair line fracture and had to spend a night at the hospital. Her hospital expenses came to Rs. 52,000. At the time of discharge, she paid it off using her HEMI card and chose a tenure of 6 months. Her EMI was Rs. 8,667. That’s it.

If she did not have the card, she would have had to pay the entire amount in one go.

2. Accepted all over India

We have partnered with 1,500+ hospitals in 1,000 different locations around India. Most of the small towns and large metros in leading healthcare centres like Apollo hospitals, Columbia Asia, Jaslok hospital, etc. accept the HEMI card.
Here’s an indicative list of treatments covered:

  • General surgery
  • Diagnostic care
  • Cardiac surgery
  • Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Maternity care
  • IVF treatments
  • Dental care
  • ENT treatments, and more

3. Covers expenses that insurance may not

During Mrs. Sharma’s hospitalisation, she chooses to stay in a premium room and opts for a physiotherapy session. Her insurance policy did not cover either of these expenses. She did not have to worry because she had the HEMI card wherein there are no exclusions applicable. In fact, unlike in an insurance policy where premiums increase with age and the policy coverage starts only after an initial cooling period, none of these things apply to the HEMI card.

4. Pre-approved card limit

Our existing customers who already have an Insta EMI Card from us can skip the complete application steps. They can check their approved credit limit with just their phone number and a one-time password. We offer two card variants – Gold and Platinum. For the Gold variant HEMI card, you have to pay a joining fee of Rs. 707/-(inclusive of applicable taxes), and for the Platinum variant HEMI card, you have to pay a joining fee of Rs. 999/- (inclusive of applicable taxes).
