What is Bharat Gas Subsidy?

The Bharat Gas subsidy is a financial assistance provided by the Indian government to reduce the cost of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders for domestic use. This subsidy aims to make LPG more affordable for low-income and middle-income households, thereby promoting cleaner cooking fuel and improving health and living conditions.

The Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) on Bajaj Finserv allows users to Book Bharat Gas instantly and securely. Customers can use various payment modes like credit/debit cards, net banking, Bajaj Pay Wallet, and Bajaj Pay UPI.

How can I check my Bharatgas subsidy details?

To check your Bharat Gas subsidy details, various methods are available:

  • My Bharatgas website: Log in using your registered mobile number and password and navigate to the ‘MY SUBSIDY’ section to view your subsidy status, transaction history, and the amount received for each cylinder.
  • MyLPG.in portal: Enter your 17-digit LPG ID, and view your subsidy status, transaction history, and subsidy amount received.
  • Bharatgas mobile app: Download the ‘BHARATGAS’ app on your smartphone, register and log in using your mobile number, and access the ‘MY SUBSIDY" section to view your details.
  • SMS: Send an SMS with your 17-digit LPG ID to 57970 and receive a reply with your subsidy status and latest transaction details.

How to check Bharatgas subsidy status?

The following methods can be utilised to check your Bharat Gas subsidy status:

  1. If you are a Bharat Gas customer, visit the official website to check your enrolment status.
  2. Click on the 'CHECK PAHAL STATUS' tab on the website.
  3. Provide your Aadhaar card number, 17-digit LPG ID, and mobile number.
  4. Alternatively, choose another option if you don't have an Aadhaar number, providing details about your state, district, distributor, and consumer number.
  5. Click the 'PROCEED' button to obtain your status information.

Subsidy amount in Bharat Gas

The subsidy amount on Bharat Gas cylinders varies depending on several factors, including:

  • Market price of LPG: The subsidy is calculated based on the difference between the market price and the subsidised price fixed by the government.
  • Cylinder size: Subsidy amount differs for 14.2 kg and 5 kg cylinders.
  • State: Subsidy rates can vary slightly across different states in India.
  • Income tax filing status: If you file income tax returns, you may not be eligible for the full subsidy amount.
