NHAI FASTag is an electronic toll collection system introduced by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to make highway travel convenient and hassle-free. FASTag is a sticker that uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to enable automatic deduction of toll charges from the linked prepaid or savings account of the vehicle owner without stopping the vehicle.

FASTag is available for purchase at NHAI authorised dealerships, banks, and e-commerce websites, and can be linked to any prepaid or savings account. Users can recharge their FASTag accounts through online modes like debit cards, credit card, UPI, or net banking.

FASTag is mandatory for all vehicles, private and commercial, and aids in the implementation of a cashless toll collection system in India. It is a step towards the government's vision of Digital India and will help promote a greener environment by reducing traffic congestion and fuel wastage.
